In Greek mythology pearls were known to be the tears shed by the goddess Aphrodite, goddess of love beauty, pleasure and procreation. Ancient Egyptians associated the pearl with Isis and thought them to be gemstones capable of healing and life.  There were even times when the pearl was the most expensive gem available, even more so than the diamond and more highly revered.  

Today I'm captivated by their femininity and uniqueness. Each is truly one of a kind and ceaselessly captivating.  This beautiful baroque pearl is held gently in a sterling silver setting and sways gently from a 30" snake chain.
