Shiva and Shakti
When I first heard from him it was through a submission on my website. These were his first words. "My fiancée and I came together through a shared passion for yoga, philosophy, epic poetry, travel, healthy living and shared creativity. We want our engagement and wedding rings to carry the symbolism of the elements that brought us together, as well as honor our family histories."
She gave him a gift once, and since this is their story, I'll let their words tell it. The following was a note she'd included to explain to him the exact intention of each element. We'll reconnect after you read this for more on my side.
"The single red bead represents the exactness of Shiva's desire. That all he sees is Shakti. That they can't not be together. So with his blood red eyes he targets that which he desires most. All of his focus, attention and awareness concentrates into a precise manifestation of his desire. One bead.
The two white beads represent the truth that protects and holds his desire. It's the innocence, the purity and the integrity that wraps around you when you've realized your truth. Like two body guards of clarity on either side. Each white bead is one of us on the other side of desire.
The black of the onyx represents all the blackness, dirt, hardship and struggle that we have to go through to get to the trinity of truth and desire. It's the work. It's the muck. It's the darkness. But it's often the darkness that reveals the light, so you have to have one to witness the other.
She is all he sees. She is the manifestation of his desire. He reveals himself through the mirror and image of her. Her place in this world is for him, of him and because of him. She is the recognition of him. He can't exist without her.
Never not together."
It was this handmade bracelet she gifted him that was the inspiration for the platinum engagement ring that he now bestows upon her. A ruby takes the place of the red bead and now represents desire. Two sparkling diamonds stand guard on either side and embody the virtues of purity, integrity, and clarity. Finally sitting directly opposite of the ruby, and taking the place of the black bead, a black diamond. There to serve as reminder that only with darkness can light can be revealed.
Congratulations you two. With this amount of intention in your relationship you undoubtedly have wonderful things in front of you, We can't wait to see what they become. Wishing you so much happiness.
