Chris and Katie's Vail Mountain Wedding
Chris and Katie's Vail Mountain Wedding
On December 13th, 2008 a boy and a girl got to talking. They were headed up Vail mountain on the Avanti Express. When he finally got up the nerve to ask for her digits, she said ok. Fast forward 5 years and on January 26th, 2013 at the top of that very same lift he popped the question. With friends and family around to take pics I'll let you see for yourself, her reaction is awesome. It makes me smile just to look at it.
This couple is a model of what Love looks like. They're honest, fun, and loyal these two both have huge hearts and beautiful souls. Chris and Katie thank you for allowing me the honor of assisting in the creation of the jewelry for the day that you both said "I Do." I am inspired by your relationship.
Katie chose, Fuschia and turquoise, and knew that she wanted a pair of statement earrings. First we chose her stones, something blue, not too green, a true to life turquoise that made her eyes look incredible. We chose three light grey raw diamonds to highlight the turquoise and serve as the base of the earring. She liked ear hooks instead of posts so they'd get a bit more movement and sway. On the back of one is engraved their wedding date and on the back of the other C and K with a heart in the middle. I love how they turned out and think that she made them look stunning. What a beautiful bride!
Then there's his ring, the very first topograhic map that I ever did. The inspiration? To commemorate the place they met and got engaged, the Avanti Ski Lift at Vail. Subtle in texture it calls to mind the grain of wood but with much more emotion. We chose 14K white gold for his ring to match hers and to be durable. He's an active guy and needed a ring to match. (If you need info on what metal might be the best choice for you, check out my blog on that here.)
So, on the September 1oth, 2013 they tied the knot in what was a light, heartfelt ceremony, where else? Vail. Check out pics of the jewels and the big day below.
